The United Way of Burlington and Greater Hamilton helps residents change lives for the better.

This important work is continuous and well-demonstrated in many of our activites: building partnerships, engaging volunteers, creating new opportunities, leveraging and investing resources and collaborating with others to build community solutions.

The result is a positive and lasting impact for thousands of individuals and families and a healthier and stronger community for everyone.

Last year over 218,000 people in our region accessed one or more of the 137 United Way funded programs and services being delivered through 75 community agencies. These essential programs and services enable childen and youth, families, seniors and people with disabilities to live healthier more fulfilling lives.

Becoming BIG is easy! A little of your time can change a lot in a child's life. A couple of hours every week or two is all that it takes to help a child build the confidence needed to be more successful in life. Little Brothers and Little Sisters are between the ages of 6 and 16, and all have one thing in common - they need a friend and mentor just like you! Share what you know - mentor a child.

More than sixty years ago, the Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club began providing recreational and social development programs for families in the east end. Programs and services now operate from multiple locations across the city and the organization has grown into one of the region's most established and effective youth serving organizations. The mission of Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. We are proud of our history of leveling the playing field and providing opportunities for children and youth to reach their full potential in life, by supporting their healthy physical, educational and social development.

Fans can ride any HSR bus for free with that game day's ticket 3 hours prior to game time and anytime after the game until the end of that day's service. Shuttles run every half-hour beginning 2 hours prior to game time on game days. Fans can "Park & Ride" at Eastgate Square, Lime Ridge Mall, Gore Park and University Plaza.

Speroway is an international non-profit relief organization. Speroway, in partnership with caring Canadians, responds to the needs of children and their families, in Canada and around the world, by providing food, medicine, education and other essentials with Christian love, compassion and integrity. What does Speroway mean? Our unique name combines Spero, the Latin word for "hope", with way, representing the path we follow. Pronounced spare-o-way, it represents a hopeful way forward, both for our organization and the people we assist.

The E.P.I.C. (Explosive Percussion in Canada) Drum Line is the official Drum Line of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Drum Line features 15 percussionists at each game marching with Snare, Tenor and Bass Drums. Listen for the E.P.I.C. Tiger-Cats Drum Line around the concourse during each home game this season.

The Hamilton Hurricanes Football Club are the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' Canadian Junior Football League affiliate.
